This is the old opera house that then just became too small. Notice the cobbled street. In a few places these old cobbled streets have still been kept as they were originally made.
This modern version was then built a few years back by the bay of Toolo
Both are beautiful structures. Great photos viewing.

I am a fan of the classical design of the first one, but I think it's awesome there's a need for a new one! Super stuff.
ReplyDeleteDo you remember that the old Opera house used to be blue?
ReplyDeleteOf course, I like the design of the old one better. But, wow, the new one is really grand! I hope you can give us a peek inside one of these days.
ReplyDeleteI think now that you mention it HPY, yes it was light blue earlier on while still being the opera house.
ReplyDeleteFantastiska byggnader.
ReplyDeleteJag tycker nog bäst om det gamla operahuset.
Men naturligtvis pryder båda sin stad.
Tack för titten hos mig
Ha en fortsatt fin kväll

Wow, what a difference between the two buildings. I absolutely love the character of the old building.
ReplyDeleteI like both buildings! Nice shots!
ReplyDeleteThe new one was a real shock after the small, cosy scale of the first.
ReplyDeleteLove the old Opera house and the cobbled road, reminders of splendid workmanship... but...the New has its place as well. We can not dwell for ever in the past. The new Opera house looks good near the river, and I am sure it has a fantastic acoustic!
ReplyDeleteI can understand the need for a larger opera house, but the old ne certainly has a lot of character.
